Urgent Advice Required from Electrical QS'

I've been a QS for god knows how many years and never have I signed a cert for a site that I have never set foot on. Employers have to realise if they are operating a QS system then the QS needs to be given the time to visit sites and verify results, installation methods etc.

If he has taken legal advice he’s probably been told not to discus the mater in public. Putting it in the arms is about as good as putting it in the local rag.

My personal thoughts are this thread should have been hidden from the outset. It’s too late now, others from his company may have seen this.

Can't really see a legal problem here, the OP has not divulged any names or the identity of companies etc!! The chance of a company representative reading this thread, and making the connection, is let's face it, so remote it isn't even worth a moment worrying about at this stage of the affair!!

Many times unfortunately, mainly on contractual matters, but never in the UK...

Now what are the chances that a company representative has seen this thread on the open forum, and made the connection between company and OP?? It's got to be in the millions to one against!!

One of the companies I work for have a whole policy on online activities which is effectively a ban on mentioning anything about work online.

Must have more money and staff time to waste than sense then... How they would be able to go about ''proving'' anything without full names etc, would be legally interesting!! Never heard of anything like it before, Only governments have got that sort of money squander away...

It all came about when they got in trouble over something posted on a forum.
The company own and operate cinemas and theatres etc.
The bloke in question was a casual stage technician (same job as me, different theatre)
He basically made negative comments about a particular comedian who had performed at his venue.
One of the comedian's production guys was also a member of the same forum.
It didn't take much to work out which venue it was, then it was just a case of narrowing it down to the individual.

Blue Chip, the term originally comes from poker. A blue chip being the highest denomination being worth 25 white chips or 5 red chips. If you were feeling really flush last night, you could have afforded a bag of chips on the way home.

Now, I've just got home from working for the aforementioned theatre owners and am busy demolishing a surprisingly good bottle of wine donated by a client who clearly appreciates me, what's your excuse for posting at this time of the morning?

It’s happened quite a few times. Occasionally it gets in the press. It’s often a work colleague that drops someone in the mire. Unfortunately very often done maliciously.
