Does anyone use their installation tester with an adaptor ( unsure of proper name) to allow you to use it as a pat tester?

Is this a lot of hassle or is it quite straight forward?

Which is a good adaptor?

Cheers

The basic Pat tests can be carried out with a 17th edition multifunction tester. Carry out an Earth Continuity test, followed by an Insulation resistance test at 500v L and N combined to earth. But a Pat tester will usually do a lot more.

It's a while since I did any PAT testing, but I seem to recall the earth continuity test involves a current of 25 A to "blow" any connections which are hanging on by just a couple of strands.
