Websites SEO and online marketing

Im looking at scrapping my existing website, which was only a basic reference based site

i am planning on getting a professionally built, optimised site and using the company for seo to build the site up, and get a decent presence

this isnt cheap but i can afford it within the marketing budget ive allowed for this year, im wondering about what results anyone else has had if they have done a similar thing

we are really busy at the moment but not quite enough for another man, but would use the extra work to take on another electrician and van if it brought that extra bit of work in

looking online theres not loads of competition if your talking about doing it properly, maybe three or four other local businesses who are using this method within probably a 25 mile radius

anyone tried this yet???

I have a free website that I update and keep fresh also Facebook and Twitter, I pay a company £80 "was" £160 per month to keep my site one the top of google with one tag name that I chose. I now pay google direct for different tag name and this is now working well and I'm getting regular work from it. I would seek professional web whelp as the results can be very good but funds couldn't allow as I'm in my second year of sole trading so keeping my strings pulled tight....
