we may have gone down the foreign metric route but i was using F. for the benefit of Megawatt who is American. they still use proper imperial measurements there. (although their gallons are a bit short measure, unlike their egos. :p .joke. )

No we didn’t catch on to the metric system but I know 25.4 mm to 1 inch and I take it from there. Read a thread and one mate mention 100 mm wire, damn that’s got to be big

he probably meant 10.0mm which is a standard size here, c. 50A

i can't get my head round metric. i can visualise feet and inches. like 2 ft. but give me 60mm and i need a dual standard tape measure to figure it out.

Thanks for the info telectrix. I also get lost when things are abbreviated like MCCB and CB and Z’ssss

translates as can you kick a ball against a wall and head it till it bursts,

i got that from my old grandad. he used to delight in taking the filling out of custard cream biscuits, replacing it with mustard, then giving us kids the doctored biscuits. bloody old sod.

I'll have to try that out on my nephew, only trouble is we don't stock custard crèmes. Sounds like something nanna would have bought.
