Is the flex just suppling the pump for the blowers I take it there isn't a heater fitted as well.
Actually this is a very good question. Reason I have wired a couple that had 2 16 amp supplys, one for the blowers and one for the heater. To be fair though they were considered large, the average whirlpool is 4 kw, also agree with hawkmoon and trev about ignoring the plumber and getting proper advice.
I know you can get heaters for whirlpool baths but didn't think they were no more than 1.5 kw and the pumps about 750w ( about 1 hp) now if your talking hottubs obvouisly thats a different beast altogether.

Not sure i deserved a bashing when only asking for advice. Thought i would take to a forum first to help point in the right direction. But thanks anyway

the exterior 8 birth spa's can actually require up to a 40 amp supply, the largest house one I have seen needed 2 16 amp supplys, usually a 4kw supply is adequate. It is unlikely a 13 amp spur will be adequate for Deans whirlpool, but you never know, hense the questioning he has had for the last 2-3 days lol.

To be honest only ever fitted a couple of whirlpool biggest one had 24 blowers just had a 1kw pump with a 1.5kw heater that topped the temp of water.
But yeh think this guy is a bit over his head. ;)

Have a read through this forum's threads - then you may realise that compared to other diy posters, you have not been 'bashed' at all :)
