Wiring inside a kitchen island - conduit required?

We are installing a new kitchen and the electrician has supplied the electricity under the base units, there is a spur for a socket that will be installed at the end of the island.

The conduit from the floor is not long enough to reach the socket and so I have run the wire as-is in between the space behind the base units - the question is - do I need to put conduit all the way up to the socket? Or is it enough that the wire is inaccessible?

The conduit doesn’t need to fully reach the socket, if the cable is standard grey twin and earth (6242Y)

The conduit is there so that the cable can be easily replaced if need be… not completely stuck in a concrete floor.

I did this not so long ago in a customers kitchen with a 25mm conduit for a 6mm cable for hob, and a 20mm conduit for a 2.5mm spur to a double socket for a little wine cooler and a pop-up socket tower.

The space available in the conduit and the size of the cables used is the reason for 2 conduits

In the past when I have installed island units I have used 40mm or 50mm waste pipe and swept bends rather than elbows for cables and water pipes or 63/50 twinwall ducting is good if it is a new slab and it is installed before the concrete is poured

Existing concrete floor.
Builder had to cut a chase to the island, and was making his job easier.

It’s also easier if a cable does need replaced, it’s not dragging against another cable.
