Hey guys, I got told by my work placement officer in college that I've got placement with Western Power, it's a brilliant opportunity to shine and get myself noticed so does anyone have any hints/tips on how to make a good impression?
Congratulations definitely a brilliant opportunity remember who has 1 lump or 2, turn up early be eager ask lots of questions but think before you ask them, if you don't know ask and try and make as many contacts as possible
Cheers mate, I am definitely going to be doing as much as I can to look like the best possibly candidate! It's for 2 weeks so I'm gonna be asking plenty of questions show I'm ready to learn
If you run out of things to do ask for something. If nothing is forthcoming, pick up a brush. NB brushes are not power tools, they require input from the operator
Well done and I hope it turns into something bigger for you
Put your mobile on silent and only look at it when you are on a break.
Take a note pad with you so you can make notes or write down anything that you are unsure of and ask on here. Also good for drawing diagrams so you understand the circuit better. This will impress any supervisor and show willingness to learn.
Will definitely take note of all these, cheers guys! I'll keep a diary sort of thing on what goes on each day and will share it with anyone that want's to get in with Western Power!
I'll let ya'll know how I get on and if they're thinking about apprenticeships in the Wales area
