Bank??!! ............ Flickin' BANK?????!!!! ... I thought you Scousers kept all yer moolah under the mattress!!

OK .... True story here: I have a Cousin - several really but this one's called Brian - and he's as tight as the proverbial gnat's chuff. He's never had a holiday or been to a cinema except for once when his girlfriend paid the admission on their fist - and last date because such frivolities are a "waste of money". He doesn't trust banks either (sensible lad) so really does (or did) keep his money under his mattress.

Now our Grandma is the Scouser who made a killing during the war flogging dodgy petrol, coal and anything else that came her way and Our Brian was always sucking up to her thinking that there would be something for him in her Will etc. Anyway, she was having a clear-out one day and found a brand new electric blanket still in its box and gave it to Brian to get him off her back for a while.

Brain took it home and put it on his bed and finding it was a double bed size and his bed was a single bed, folded the blanket. Ok .... long story shortened a bit - the whole lot went up in flames - including his money. Oh how we laughed! :)

Hi, thanks for the replies - though it seems to have gone a bit off course somewhere!

The reason I re posted the thread, is because the original was in the DIY forum. I got a pm from an electrician in Glasgow offering for the work. I asked him to reply in the thread and he didn't think he could because access to that thread is limited?

Anyway, still hoping that a Glasgow based electrician may chip in at some point :)

Thanks

well send him a pm and arrange by pm/email/phone.

Pity old Jamie is no longer a member he wouldn't LEAF the op in trouble.

I would feel more comfortable if postings were made in public, at least initially.

but perhaps he doesn't want to post his business dealings on open forum.

if he's not a member of that forum then he can't post in it.
