Finally left my firm which I was paye (social housing maintenance and eicr's)- was there for around 6years (inc apprenticeship)

got myself my own van a few weeks ago.

So I have started subbing for a firm on a new build block of flats- bit further out then I use to travel- but not too bad.

specs is:

Cupboard:
C/U (13circuits)
6x spurs
2x d.s
1x s.s
1x cat5 patch panel (4x rj45)
1x DL +1x pir

Bathroom:
1x spur+outlet (towel rail)
1x dp sw
5x DL +1x pir

Hall:
2x 1g sw 2way
1x d.s
6x DL +2x pir

Master Bed:
1x 1g sw
3x d.s
2x cat5
4x DL

En=suite:
1x spur+outlet (towel rail)
1x dp sw
2x DL +1x pir

Smaller Bed:
1x 1g sw
3x d.s
2x cat5
4x DL

Lounge/Kitchen:
1x 3g switch
5x s.s
7x d.s
1x flex outlet
1x hob switch+outlet
grid (6x dp, 4x fuses)
2x cat5
1x media plate (2x d.s 2x cat5)
11x DL

havn't done a 1st fix yet but price is £500/plot
mid fix is £125 (cutting out and boxig and holes for DL's)- dedicated team that does this- although I can if I want
2nd fix is £500/plot
and then theres £125 left on the plot to test and do a few other little bits- again someone else does this

is this good or bad as subbing goes??

also 'we' are still fitting plastic c\u's- I am guessing its because contract was agreed/started pre 2016....is this acceptable/allowed/the norm?

just interesting to see what people thoughts are as this is all new to me lol

Materials supplied?

would hope so!

yes mate- materials on site in a stores

£150 per day that is just over 3 days reckon you could do it that quickly?

seems like its done in batches- so just 1st fix for so many weeks- then swap to 2nd fix for so many weeks
I have only been doing 2nd fixing so far- been taking around 1 day with 2 of us (£250 each)
will aim to get 4 done a week- thats 800quid take home- which I will be happy with- plus my own bits on the weekend

If you are happy with the price, go for it how much for the 2nd part of the first fix?

1st fix is £500

'mid fix' (cutting out p.board and putting boxes in, cutting holes for dl) is £125- looks like a bunch of laborer go around and do this for you- you can do it yourself if you want

2nd fix is £500

then there is around £125 left on each plot to test and and tie a few lil bits up.

Prices seem good Imo...£125 mid fix that you could probably do in 2-3 hours?

You really should be battoning out stud walls and fixing metal boxes. Fastfix is a really rough job imho as for the down lights, take measurements on 1st fix then bang em out in 10 minutes on 2nd. £125 in 10 minutes not bad.
