Hi all,

i was thinking about joining a scheme to be able to sign off my own work and be able to take on more work.

I've been working for a company for a few years now and doin all kinds of work in under their banner but want to start doing my own side jobs like board changes etc but need to register onto a scheme, so my Question is, what kind of job can i use on my assessment? would something an outside light be acceptable? It will be on a domestic installer scheme, as i still plan on working for my company and just doing a few side jobs here and there.

cheers

the cps scams like to see a larger joblike a new circuit or a CU change.as you will know, bothe theses are notifiable. the way round it is to do the job for assessment, then notify once you have joine niceic, whatever.

thanks for the reply mate,
ye i was thinking about that but didnt know if it was acceptable to leave it till after their visit then notify it, i didn't know if they wanted to to see it already been notified first. but if thats alright then makes it alot easier for me to be fair

you'd need to co-ordinate the install to close before the assessment day, so it's within the 30 day notification window.

I think for your initial assesment you can use your own home for a job such as new circuit or cu change and fill out a cert dated around the time of your inspection so that you can notify it within the 30 days as previously mentioned
