Had my first nic eic approved contractor assessment as QS at my new job today.
Never been a QS before.
It wasn't as bad as I was led to believe, although there was no stone unturned and constant questions on regulations and the like.
Had two minor non compliances....

My niceic inspection is due very shortly & I'm trying to decide whether to step up to an approved contractor as 70% of our work is commercial & industrial. Most of our work is word of mouth, so our advertising costs are very low. Do you get much more work being an approved contractor?
Hi can someone tell me what the difference between a domestic installer and an approved contractor please?
I have a feeling an approved contractoris someone with nvq level 3 and 2391 test and inspect but im not sure and cant find this info out anywhere.

Just got back from a customer who has asked me to quote for rectifying some issues brought to light during a recent inspection. The customer came to me because the previous spark had let him down and failed to turn up when supposed to on four different occasions.
Turns out this NIC 'approved'...
