Hello there,
I am setting up a website as i am styarting house bashing v shortly (NICEIC DI inspection this week) and wondered what info you guys put on yours. (If you have one or need one at all!?) I always think if you get a personal recommendation and then someone can check your website they...
So just spent an hour investigating a fault on a customer's lighting circuit (MCB tripping). He has lived there for over ten years. I asked him if anybody had done any work on the wiring recently, he said none of the electrics had been touched whilst he has lived there. Seemed to be a dead...
I'm thinking about finding a way to get electronic money from customers on site, rather than cheques (these are getting more redundant evey day)
or cash (customers never have enough of this, do they? And HMRC are looking at YOU!)
I'm often get funds transfers direct into my bank account or via...
Just got back from a customer who has asked me to quote for rectifying some issues brought to light during a recent inspection. The customer came to me because the previous spark had let him down and failed to turn up when supposed to on four different occasions.
Turns out this NIC 'approved'...

Spoke to a chap today who lives in a council house and was offered free solar, (i know the installs are far from the best) and he said he did not want it as it does not work, also offered an ASHP, and did not want that either... I was shocked..
If it is a council house you do not have the...
I've had a particularly busy and tough week - not bad, as all the jobs pretty much went to plan.
The icing on the cake has been 2 customers who have rung to say how pleased they are with my work.
Yes, I'm blowing my own trumpet, but at times like these when its tough out there its really good...
Having read other posts about peoples’ opinion of REAL, here is the experience of a customer.
After trying unsuccessfully for over a month to get the installer to come and investigate issues with our PV installation, I finally resorted to the comfort and assurance we, as customers, are...
took this in back of a sarnie shop, only reason im been called in is because the stainless splash back is been replaced by a full height one and she asked me to re-route the plastic conduit they were unaware it was doing any damage to the conduit DOH!
There seems to be some misinformation in the mainstream media that the post cut tariff is no more or not worth considering. The truth is that returns are in the 10-12% region in the south of the UK and as good as they were for most of last year:
Half price solar provides similar rates of return...

think that the electric supply is a never ending supply
Just been asked to look at wiring a kitchen and the list of appliance loads makes the mind boggle
You have just got to wonder how often the main cut out fuse will blow in the future if everything in the house is turned on
Is there any requirement within the code of practice to have the current FIT rates rather than the old 41.3p rate? Seems there are some websites that still list the old rate giving an unrealistic comparison.
Now the new rate is "agreed" I would most bona fide companies would expect webpages to...
SSE has lost an appeal into a conviction for tricking potential customers into switching from their existing energy firm.
SSE's sales agents had used misleading sales scripts when talking to people on their doorsteps, between September 2008 and July 2009.
SSE said it was "disappointed" with...

Hello all,
Can anyone recommend any literature to give to domestic customers to help explain the problems that can be encountered when upgrading consumer units/fuseboards? I'd like to give something to my customers in black and white in advance if they are not interested in paying for a...
Hi.

The customer would like me to re connect up his immersion heater as the plumber wouldn't do it. (clever plumber)!

Gutted. Arranging to have a scaffold erected on a customers house and he informed me that he had changed his mind - with one day to go!
We hadn't signed contracts - unfortunately time constraints mean that I can't visit every site to sign contracts at the moment (stupid, I know).
Anyway...
