Is it permissible to run SWA underground through a duct/conduit or must it be direct in ground?
What diameter SWA would I require for a 10m run, buried and clipped to wall, feeding 3 x 16a...
Hey Guys,
Hopefully this picture is clear enough to read the text boxes (if not, the PDF attached should be clearer). I'm trying to get 240V ran to my detached condo garage in order to run my TIG welder and my plasma cutter. I live in Ohio, and I know they still operate under NEC 2017. I want...
Hello All,
Let be begin by making it clear that I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL ELECTRICIAN! I will be hiring one (I have one scheduled to come out to take a look, but it won't be until 10 days from now). I am making this post to get input from professional electricians as to whether this idea I have...

I have charged ahead with a small subpanel installation in a detached garage I am converting to a light-duty shop. The setup is simple, but I have been stymied by a final step. Hoping someone can help.

I've earthed this at the garage CU.

Hello everyone,
A new small DB will be installed inside a garage for few lights and sockets. The feed will come from inside the house. Does it need to be an IP65 unit or can be the usual metal clad?
Thank you
I am considering getting some power in my garage for my new house. We currently have a second fuse board in the shed that is an old kind with rewireable fuses with a 50a double pole main switch feeding it. This shed is about 8 metres from the garage and would be easier to take a feed from here...

Garage mini board supplied from an 16A MCB, on an Rcd protected board. Would the fact the board it’s supplied from give the circuits in the garage RCD protection?? I,e. If there was an earth fault on the sockets in the garage would this trip the Rcd back at the board in the house
Does a new cable that’s supply a garage need to rcd protected at the consumer unit inside or can it be supplied off the non rcd side of the
consumer unit?
The garage will have a rcd consumer unit inside.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
