if you are going NIC, you have to be 17th edition qualified AND have the 17th regs. The OSG is not out yet

dont know about NAPIT, Elecsa etc, but shpould imagine they are the same

I get loads of 'last minute' 17th edtion students who have got their assessments coming up.......:p

mmm, not sure what to think now!! booked my assessment and just received all the bumf from the nic. a friend of mine has recently just passed his assesment for the domestic installer scheme. he is already qual to 17th edition.
i have spoke to joel at nic on several occassions to confirm that i dont need the 17th qualification just yet and he said yes that correct, so long as you get it before you re subscribe on the installer scheme. i asked him this on a total of poss 3 seperate occassions as i didnt wanna pay 430 buks for the application just to find i fail straight away? ive got me c&g 2360 and eal domestic installer, public liabiltity etc.

so who's right here then, is it ppl on here or the nic? starting to worrry!!!!!

niceic told me i was fine with my C&G 2360 part 1+2, only have to do my 17th by end of year or within a year cant remember exactly now!!!!!!!!

cheers jutty i can sleep better tonight now!! do you think there actually bothered about having the eal course in domestic installation, cos they didnt even mention anything about seeing certs for that?

The 17th edition amicus guides are out and are I understand taken as equivilent to OSG. They were when I took the 16th
