Yes. In the day you just wrote 1/3 and everybody knew that was the cost of something. One shilling and thruppence.Not that I'm anywhere near old enough to know, but could he have meant a shilling and thruppence ?
I threw in the d after the three to show I meant proper money and not this newfangled divide by ten malarkey.
I mean why ten. Ten isn’t a common number isn’t it. I mean it’s not like we have ten fingers or anything. They should have kept it at 12, or a nice prime number like 7. Now that’s a proper number.
