H Chaps,

Can anyone tell me if the new regs require RCD protection for PVC conduit run to metal clad 20a DP switch? and also to a lighting circiut where the wiring is in minitrunking?

I didn't think so.

It's a small workshop with a 3 horse power table saw saw
The plan is to run 2.5 singles in conduit to the 20a switch for the saw; a 16a C type breaker should accommodate the start up induction current (around 15a and then run @ around 9a).
Lighting in conduit to wall plate level then in minitrunking to HF fluorescents, with non maintained emergency bulkhead on the phase.
RFC on 32a RCBO

Have I covered it?

Does this mean we're gonna see the return of the council style re-wire where all is surface mounted so only RCD for Ground floor sockets!!! Tee Hee!!

What about RCD protection on sockets for non-instructed/ skilled persons? eg the home owner.

Hi
Could someone tell me what D10 Domestic electrical installation certificate is, there seems to be lots of certificates out there.

Thanks

Mark

Well i think you have just about got it covered.

No RCD protection for lighting and 20A radial and RCBO on socket outlets.

Job done!
