Morning gentlemen

I am looking for some solid advice from fellow sparks on best route to go. I have been an electrician for 13 years. I started off in the domestic and commercial installations side of the industry. Completed my apprenticeship etc etc. 2009 hit and I was made redundant so I headed off to a factory and became a multi skilled engineer.

I have been in maintenance ever since dealing with programming machines, control and automation etc. I love working on machinery, robots etc.

Long story short my plan is to go it alone in the next few years. I however want to add strings to my bow so to speak. I want to offer all my existing services but I also want to add domestic installations and testing.

Would I pass the current 2391-50 with just a standard course bearing in mind I haven't tested domestic installations since I was last in that side of the industry (we have contractors for installations). I recently passed the 18th without much fuss however I want to gain 2391-50.

Can you recommend courses and providers near to Cambridgeshire?

Maybe some online courses to then do the exam at a centre

All advice welcome.

Cheers lads

Hi RaB,

I'm not a sparky myself but thought I'd say that we have sponsors who specialise in this and sometimes can provide discounts to forum members.

www.XSTraining.com and www.TradeSkills4u.co.uk

That said hang in there and one of the actual sparks who are members will reply asap. Looks like you got missed. :)
