Discuss Best Quinetic Dimmable Combo in the Lighting Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Thanks for confirming that Mark. Just hopefully last question is I hope I don't need to earth that backbox even though it has an earthing terminal? (I'm only using 2 quinetic modules nothing that requires wriing?)

If I do, it sort of defeats the point of wireless ?

Edit: And the grid backboxes are understandbly quite deep. I guess I can't use a normal backbox? Maybe there are some shallow "compatible" backboxes out there?

THanks so much for taking the time to answer.

Have you looked at lightwave?

Just did. Maybe I should be glad I "only" paid £66 for my quinetic - at least they seem to have good reliabilkity reviews which is pretty important. Those lightwave look very nice but probably too high end for this project.

I've got the quinetic now - arrived in about 12 hours after ordering !! The modules themselves do have much nicer action than the cheap crap I got from ebay/amazon. But the grid plates do look a bit industrial. Guess we'll have to live with them.

Digging out a deep box in a cavity wall is annoying though. Part of me is thinking to get the regular quinetic switch to take a look and then return either that or the mk ones.
