Can I have some thoughts on a broken TT Earth. The house owner has cut through there TT Earth cable 3 feet up from the stake.

Can this be jointed and if so what would be a suitable connection, in an ideal world a new continuse cable would be preffered or is this the only option. I could not see anything in the regs to say this cable must be continuse or was I having a Man look as my wife refers to it.

Many thanks

Daniel

Acceptable methods of jointing it would be to crimp or solder
As you say a new lenghth of cable would be the best option but as long as the joint is free from becoming corroded I see no reason why not
Covering the joint in heat shrink sleeving should be adequate, allthough I believe a sheathed earth cable should be green/yellow throughout its length
The joint could also be enclosed in suitable plastic conduit if possible

Thank you Des for your helpa good heat crimp and clip the cable out the way of the hedgecutter then.
