I used to be a refrigeration engineer and have only seen standard bulkhead fittings used. It was years ago now though and cfl's were only just a thing... They didn't work well and used to flicker. The main issues were freezing solid, the fittings were often not sealed to the outside of the freezer and moisture would condense on the inside and freeze. A incandescent lamp in a ice cube was normal. It's strange how you look back on dangerous situations that were just accepted at the time. An unearthed metal box with mains power wired by idiots that love SY in a stuffing gland, ideal...
As above, most lights will work fine in a freezer, in fact they'll probably last twice as long as the would in normal ambient temperatures. I'd suggest an IP rating of at least IP55 or better and use proper glands, not grommets for cable entries.
