We were lucky.
shoebox??? bloody luxury. last week's liverpool echo as a roof. kept the rain of as it was soaked in chippy grease from having wrapped last night's chips.

Technically you are correct, if this was being wired from scratch a 10mm/45a circuit would be installed. However the OP is simply complaining of pullswitches failing due to thermal damage. That will be nothing to do with the cable size or mcb rating and everything to do with poor connections at the switch.
Given the short duration of the load for a shower it's unlikely that the 6.0mm and 32a mcb will ever be a problem , the issue is poorly connected pullswitches and rewiring the circuit will not resolve that..
