Wonder if anyone can help me just for my personal clarifcation.
i am qualified electrican with c&g 2330, 2357, 2391, 2382, 2377 etc
picked up a job for emergency lighting, just to install 3 x non maintained self contained spotlight fittings.
the wiring configuration is not the problem etc
...............................................................................................
the main problem being is the certification side and the qualification
does this mean you have to undertake a 1 day course etc to wire an emergency light to become competant (just seems silly that you can work on commercial and industrial premises and not emergency lighting)
the installation and the wiring is a doddle but just the certifcate side just want highlighted
i maybe barking up the wrong tree and getting confused over the situation
i know the monthly checks etc, just if lamps are working for a short duration etc
anually 1 - 3 hour check.
just the question is are you deemed qualified / competant because honestly the idea of the 1 day course most of them are money making schemes,
usually you can learn more from speaking on places like this to someone more experienced than you and reading a book like electricans guide to emergency lighting. than doing a 1 day course.
