Does anyone have experience with high bay cold storage lighting? What type of lamps and fixtures are typically used?

I think that high intensity discharge lamps(HID) or metal halide are good options for cold storage its maintenance cost is also low and it gives bright and clear light.

Thanks!

Have seen SON used before, had to drill drain holes though. That of course led to ice forming on the floor below the lights.

I have worked in cold storage units and used metal halide. I was quite happy with the result.

Hi I am newcomer to this Forum,

Has anyone used LED lighting in cold storage warehouses? The light will be switched off at night so I wonder if problems will arise due to condensation?

John

You'll always have problems with condensation.
Whether it'll affect the LEDs I don't know.
The main problem I find with LEDs, is that they don't radiate in all directions.
Great as spots, but not much good for anything else.
