Discuss Critical Feedback recent Consumer unit install Please. in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hello MrShine94
From my perspective and at first glance the terminations other than the Live of the bottom 16A Rcbo ,they look very neat

Is the board spaced out from the Plyboard ? the cables seem to have been squashed between the unit and the Ply
Yes it does look a bit of an eyesore

In any event @magnoliafan89 I think you made a valid point in raising the question regards the earth etc. And I hope the reg I quoted will shed light on that question. Instead of being confused by statements of dismissal without any regs to back it up.
The reg was there in its entirety, you chose to publish part of it which inferred that the earth could Only enter collectively with other conductors which is incorrect and misleading to someone asking for advice, or am I still missing your point?

which is incorrect
Show me that in the regs or acknowledge you was wrong it is not misleading and the part left out in no way enlarges on the part quoted which does state, not infer, the earth should go in with the live and neutral, unless you are on a different timeline to me. Me? I am not inferring anything about anyone or anything you need not only to read but get some understanding.

Wonder why Wiska make those???

It’s the same reg that says collectively or separate. You intimidated it had to be collectively and that’s my point. If the op glanded earth seperately your post would have led him to believe he’d made an error.

I think its you who has been confused by mine and @Vortigern posts. I was asking as i said in my post because normally those in my experience who dont put the earth in with the mains tails normally have the live in a different entry to the neutral. Vortigern has simply posted the reg about this...if the OP is worth anything he wouldnt get confused

And my point was he posted half the reg

I am not intimating anything please try to understand that. I am quoting a reg which is slightly controversial in it's interpretation, nothing new there! However there are grounds for saying it means the earth conductor supply and live and neutral will go together into the db. The part i later quoted has NOTHING to do with the first part I quoted it is talking about another earth with SWA, nothing to do with the supply to the DB. How you conflate them together is beyond me. This is not a personal attack on you merely trying to make a point which is significant in terms of best practice and compliance and only that.
