I have come across this question that has stumped me. Could anyone offer me and advice regarding the question. Thanks!

What are the sources of technical and functional information?

It's a little lacking in context... what section is it in? Are there any other questions around it?

And, you'll get a better response if instead of just asking for advice, you have a go and provide us with your answer. No one likes doing someone else's homework, but we're generally happy to offer constructive advice based on someone's attempt.

PDFs on the manufacturers website! Or you could look on moodle in college (assuming they have one) and find the question/answer PDFs for most modules. Nobody seems to look there for some reason. :D

No offence here OP but really? Question is straightforward enough, yes they could dumb it down but you just look at 3 words "sources of information"

You mean to say that on your level 3 (presuming level 2 missed at this point, given the question) you've not done anything on sources of information? Forgive me if that comes across as hostility, while there is a definite underlying meaning of hostility, it's not the main intention, it's more shock at how your course must be running if youv not leafy covered this type of basic thing.

If you're a trainee, jump into the trainees section (PM Dan or Lou) and you'll get more help
