Electrical wire connectors help please

Hi

Have bought led kitchen lights with extension cabling. Is it possible to snip the connectors in the picture off and just solder the led light to the longer cable?

Who uses solder these days?
insulated crimps or strip connectors.
But really? why change something that seems perfectly ok?
