And where can i obtain one of these Palm crosses, i want one in my van window tomorrow. This bloke is local to me, i dont know him, but he has my support.

Your local church should be able to help you out.
I went to a C of E primary school; just before Palm Sunday every year the Rector used to bring over a big bag of dried palm branches and had us manufacturing them like some kind of Victorian workhouse.

None of my customers have ever said anything to me or complained.

Christian electrician Colin Atkinson has won his fight to display a cross in his van following a nationwide outcry.

The dramatic climbdown by Wakefield District Housing came after senior church figures were joined by Hindu, Muslim and Sikh leaders in condemning his employers.

Former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey had described the 64-year-old grandfather’s plight as ‘scandalous’ and Housing and Planning Minister Grant Shapps said WDH’s action was ‘wrong’.

Last night Lord Carey said: ‘I’m so glad. All that was needed was a little bit of compassion and understanding. Where there is a bit of common sense we can find a resolution.’

WDH caved in and agreed to let Mr Atkinson display his cross in an effort to end the embarrassing row.

The U-turn came at a ‘confidential and unminuted’ meeting between Mr Atkinson, his Unite union rep Terry Cuncliffe, WHD executive director of people Gillian Pickersgill and a senior manager at the organisation’s headquarters in Castleford, West Yorkshire, on Wednesday.

During the hour-long meeting WDH managers put a series of proposals to Mr Atkinson – all of which would allow him publicly to display the cross.

Ken,before you go slating Che Guervara try watching the film THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES which depicts his story.He actually worked as a volunteer on a leper colony after qualifying as a doctor and fought for the downtrodden masses against oppresive dictators.He could have taken a well paid doctors post in Argentina but he chose to follow his conciense and lived like the peasants he fought for. Wow, a statement from a left-winger that is both factual and void of abusive replies - which to be honest with you, is the usual response that I get when slating the extreme left. Yes, he was an ideological figure, but lets not forget that he was also responsible for the deaths of 100s, maybe even the low 1000s of political enemies and even ex-allies. He was also a man who hero-worshipped one of the 20th century's biggest dictators, namely Stalin. He also slated the Soviet Union for backing down over the Cuban Missile Crisis. And accused them of betraying World Socialism. Even though, the Soviets' backing down helped to avert what would have ended in a Nuclear war. Sorry mate, but such a figure is not worth celebrating as far as I'm concerned.
