Hey there!

I'm new and curious if you can help me.. Has anyone here ever heard of Free Quotes - Tradesman Auction Service - eGenie.co.uk Or even found a job there. It's a website where customers post their wish (whatever has to be done) and several tradesmen give estimates. I'm not sure if I should quote. What do you think? Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance for your help! Bill

yes you should, if you win work you did not have before it is worth a shot,

but bare in mind with these sort of reverse-auction sites, the lowest price usually wins the contract.

at least it is another source for you to fearn from.

good luck and visit my thread for further opportunity

In this case it's a little different, I think. What they say on their website is: "Remember, it is not necessarily the cheapest service provider who receives the job but the one who offers the best value for money." Every tradesman has the chance to become a certified member "certified service provider" as they call it by handing in for example a trading license. But the tradesmen have to pay a certain fee for that. The question is whether customers are interested in quality or simply saving money..
