Evening all, I've been asked to put some external lighting in for a gentleman I know. It's a large detached property and he wants 4 lights at the front of his house to make it "glow" in the night time. Never installed this sort of lighting, so not too sure which would be the best to use. Need to avoid any glare coming through the window but also be bright enough to actually light up the exterior wall. I'm thinking possible a halogen fitting positioned as close to the external wall as possible, and shining straight up at a 80 degree angle. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a recipe for some pretty bad light pollution. We are supposed to be keeping it to a minimum? How about some of that paint Del boy used for the chip shop?

Usually on a large property SON or MH lights are used, but these may be a little bright for jsut a glow, so house coloured LED floods could be a solution.
You want a wide angle uplight of some sort suitable for rain falling on the face of the light.
