Got to be a wind up.
The carrier bag jokes are the demonstration of how daft the idea is mate
Hi all,
I would like to pick your collective brains by asking if any of you has installed a DB/consumer unit in a garden or outside which is flat and flush to the ground . This one is by a lake and needs to be flat. It will be sat in grass/lawn
Ideas or solutions please
Ta lots
Nigel

The customer is a very intelligent man so if an IP68 box is placed in another and then another (which what he suggested) do you have any scientific reason why not as I'm struggling,I know it's not right but am having difficulty arguing with his logic)
It's a rediculous idea in the first place, you know that, but you didn't offer up a (equally daft) different solution.
Offer up some ideas yourself for discussion.

So because I don't post an idea you won't, 6000 posts for that. Come on, think , yes it maybe a ridiculous idea but they said that about the Wright brothers. Is this so difficult , it's crazy admittedly but is it impossible ??
Yep, he sounds like a very intelligent man indeed!! .....NOT!!
So how would you seal the cable entries into the outer and inner boxes and exactly how long do you expect them to be water tight?? Then how are you going to overcome condensation, which is almost a certainty with the box(es) being sunk into the ground??

Either place a small brick built box into a ha-ha or hide it in some folliage then put your cu inside it......
One of these?

Infact how about a ha-ha with a wall & put a meter cabinet in the wall and a cu in the cabinet.
It's a ditch. Landowners used to have field walls built in them so they'd have an unimpeded view. You'd come across one and be surprised and shout "Haha" the name stuckHa-ha ? 25 years and not heard of that what is it ?
