I am planning to run an armoured Cat6 Ethernet cable to my house from a detached garage. The external section of this cable will have to pass through the brick walls of the garage and the house, and I would appreciate some guidance on how best to handle that aspect of the job.

The attached drawing shows two options for dealing with the minimum bend radius of the cable. In each case, how should I seal the entry point?

It is small and light, you can hold it up with some twin and earth clips.

if you want to use swa, then a junior hacksaw is a method of making off the cable. just search youtube for swa termination.
length is not important, except for, you will have to slice down the outer insulation for the entire length you want to remove with a sharp knife.

I'd previously seen videos using expensive tools but I've now found one featuring a hacksaw. All videos I've seen show the trimming of an SWA cable very near its end, thus making it easy to bend the scored wires backwards and forwards until they break. I'm assuming that in my case I would score the armouring, strip back about a foot of the outer cover and then cut the wires a few inches away from the scoring point.

If the fibre cable is so much lighter than SWA Cat6 then I guess the latter has much heavier duty armouring making it less at risk of damage.

If I go with SWA, I'm tempted to do without a box on the outside and bring the armoured cable into the house and along a straight path inside a ceiling void until I am close to the location of my LAN cabinet. I would strip the armouring at this point. Is there any reason why I shouldn't then simply wrap insulating tape around the end of the armouring?
