Is this safe?

Hi everyone. I just had an electric toilet seat installed (bidet - warms and shoots water, heats seat, etc). I think some protection was installed on the cable run (rcd?). However I noticed under the cistern some tape was used with the toilet seat cable and main electrical supply.
Is this safe?

If that is mains cable then yes it is dangerous. Even if it is not mains then it is not correctly enclosed.

Thank you. Yes, the grey cable is the main electrical supply going to the white cable molded to the seat.
Should have some waterproof box been used?

Was part of a larger bathroom refit. Said they had plumbers, tilers, electricians for each job.

Approx 2 metres from the shower, 1 metre from the sink.

sure that’s not 2 FEET from the shower?

That connection should definitely be in a box, especially if mains voltage, but it could be ELV without being able to check.

Rough as a badgers.....

Better check it has an RCD and it’s tested frequently.

Yes there's a switch outside the bathroom wall (I think they said rcd?). I will post a pic but won't be until I get home late tonight sorry (key worker).

Yes 2 metres, it's a wide bathroom, the shower and toilet are on either side.
ELV? I'll send a pic of the wires with tape unwrapped too when I get home.
