hi, just a quick question for installing a 32 amp hot tub a friend told me it HAS to be in SWA but I have seen lots of 32 amp tubs installed with 6mm twin and earth in conduit, Is he correct? and is there anything in regulations not allowing me to use twin and earth in conduit? many thanks

Without knowing the specifics of the installation it's hard to say. Is the cable run buried or clipped to a wall for example?

Twin and earth is not really designed for conduit . You would need large conduit for it too. Depending on the design E.G buried , I would go for SWA in ducting too.

As already stated the requirements depend upon the installation method, and it may be that SWA would be preferred, particularly if anything is buried. But in general there is no specific regulation requiring a particular wiring system for a hot tub and if a plastic conduit system provides adequate protection then it can be used.
As always when 'friends' or tradesmen make up their own regulations ask them to provide the regulation number they are referring to. It invariably silences them.
