I recently had Sky+ installed (shotgun cable) and was working fine until I chased into the wall and terminated dual connection socket.

I don't think it's kinked anywhere, the connection in the sockets looks ok too. What's my best way forward?? Having read the advice on here I'd been better to use one of the brush type openings fascia instead! Suggestions please?

Thanks

I would try and avoid using a wall plate. I see it as an unecessary connection in the majority of cases. If there is length available on the cable to pull through do this, remove insides from faceplate so you are left with just the hole, pass cable through and connect directly to your device.
If your cables are scrunched up inside the back box or have been kinked at any time then you have altered the impedance charecteristics of the cable and the only correct solution is to replace the cable back to it's source (the dish). Bit 'purist' I know but a failsafe approach

Had to pull a little out that I already chased and straighten it out a little then connected the Sky feed cable to double joining type F connectors to the two cables I had already bought and used one of those brush type fascias. Full signal, I know now not the cut the cable in future and just use the brush type socket and just pull the cable through! Alls well that ends well.
