Hi all
I'm on a job now where there is more than one water main coming into the property as it was three small cottages now it's one. I just need to confirm that i have to bond all main services into the property.
thanks
john

You have to bond all of the water services coming in to the property and any other multiple service for that matter providing they are in use and have pipework etc connected throughout the property.

If you are only using one of the services and the rest are capped or isolated and the pipework from them is also removed or separated then you would only need to bond the services whose pipe works are connected and within the property.

If it’s not to inconvenient bond all incoming mains. I’m speaking as an industrial electrician here not domesticated, the more earth paths the better as I see it.

I don't want to sound pedantic here but main protective bonding has nothing to do with convenience.

Also, the bonding of non extraneous-conductive parts can create more of a hazard with distributed touch voltages in fault conditions.
