I just picked up a Thermal Dynamics SL100 plasma cutter. I have 220 circuit in my shop but I don't think its up to the task. Its about a 40 foot run to the shop from my 200 amp panel. Currently the circuit has a two pole 15 amp breaker with 10-3 wire. The requirements are below. Can I just upgrade the breaker? What size? Do I need to run a whole new circuit?

It sounds like you have old single phase wiring, typically 208 now requires 4 wires. 2 hots a neutral and ground. Also it is always good to use factory recommendations. This would require new cable as well as a new breaker. Also this device can be used with different voltages and requires this to be selected. All this can get difficult quick, it may be worth while seeking out a local electrician.

Dseelye it’s all 240/120vac single phase The only way he could have 208vac would have to come from a 3 phase system.

Ah, that seems to be correct my apologies. I figured it was a single phase system. For some reason I always considered someone saying 208,220,230,240 all referenced the same 120/240 system, however just researched this further and "208 single phase" references a configuration of a three phase system. Thanks for the clarification!
