Hi all,
I'd be most grateful for any advice please.

We have a G3 alarm with an Accenta remote control panel.

I'm doing some renovation work and need to extend some of the alarm wiring and, while I'm at it, replace the well-worn keypad.

My question is this: can I work on the main control box/panel/wiring having unset the alarm using my user code, or must I enter the engineer code? I ask, because our installer had a stroke and no longer fits alarms, so I cannot get him in to do the work.

I look forward to any advice.

Many thanks
Dordio

Hi welcome to extend the wiring you can do that by using your own code. you must remember once you open the panal put your code in.

open the panel.enter your user code to silence alarm. then when extending wiring, remember that any active devices ( PIRs, Shock Sensors etc.) have a 12V supply, usually on red/black, but not always. if you short this pair, you'll blow a fuse in the panel.

Op you are better powering down the panel
Before altering the cables.

Open panel put code in to silence then disconnect 12+connection or pull glass fuse on aux12+
