can anyone please advise. I am decorating my teenage daugters bedroom. she wants a neon coca cola bottle light installed as a wall light .the wiring is already there in the wall from an existing wall light that has been removed The only neon lights I can find are those that come with a 3 pin plug. Can these be adapted to connect to the main house circuit so that they can be turned on and off by the wall switch:eek:

not having a clue about sparky terminology what is a rating???

By your own admission i dont think you should attempt this yourself, if the rating of the light is low enough then it is a simple enough job connecting it up to the circuit with maintinence free connections.

i would suggest trying to engage a electrician who maybe able to do this as a "on the way home one evening" job!

they will need to look at the loading of the light as to how many amps it pulls and the suitability of its connection to the exsisting circuit.

3amp should be easily suitable to be connected into the lighting circuit, however if you do not feel confident and are anyway unsure about what this involves i would suggest that it may not be a good idea to carry this out yourself
