Hi guys

I Have been asked to install wiring for a new hob, with extractor hood, the hob instructions say it requires a 30A minimum supply, the hood is only about 200w

Would it be ok for me to install a dedicated ring circuit, in 2.5, for both items, or do i have to give the hob its own 6mm radial?

Any responses appreciated!

well for a start..we need the installation method......and i also suggest you take a look at table A2 which you will find on page 111 of the on site guide (1st)...

well its the first 10A....then 30% of whatevers left....thats your diversity allowance.....work your cable size off that......MCB/fuse to suit.....

Ok thanks, I havent physically seen the hob yet to see the ratings plate but assuming for now the cable can carry the current, are there any other reasons you can think of I cannot use the method mentioned, regs wise?

was wondering why you would want a 2.5mm RFC when a 6mm radial is easier. 6mm on a 32A MCB. to cooker isolator is best bet.

why 6mm?.....the o/p needs to see the rating of this appliance first......it seems like..if in doubt...reach for the 6mm....may be a 4mm will cut it.....
