No earth wire on wall light?

On my newly purchased wall light there is only a blue and brown wire and no earth. The connection from the wall however has brown, blue and an earth wire. My question is can I just cap the earth wire off and tuck into the light base? If so what is the safest way of doing this? Attached light and wall. Thanks in advance.

Hi - if I’m seeing it correctly, this fitting needs the g/y earth wire to be connected to the centre terminal, to earth the metal lamp base.

As above, that is a Class I luminaire and MUST be Earthed.

what they said^^^^^. earth wire to centre terminal. you can see the prong connecting to the metal casing of the light. have you read the instructins that came with it? it will show.
