Northern Power Grid Earth connection

Hi I have just had an earth put into my property can anyone advise what type of arrangement it is? Many thanks

Doesn't look like the second fuse carrier is connected to anything. Is the second earth cable going into the service head connected to the neutral ?

Hi I asumed it was TN-S but the 2nd earth does go into the service head so would it now be a TN-C-S? Many thanks

I would assume that the neutral would’ve been identified on a new head. Would still say TN-S
Could always verify by contacting DNO

Aye that's right. Northern powergrid have been doing heads this way round here for a couple of years now.

If you've got TN-S, why add? I'd like to know what's gone on with the earthing system as a whole. Why 'neutral' the incoming cable sheath?

Yes, I do not like the idea of 2 mixed earthing arrangements here. TNS/ TNCS it should be one or other. IMO

Perhaps Dave its not two earthing systems,it may be Tnc-s with the sheath of the original Tns now only acting as a exposed conductive part
In my area they have often spliced the cable outside and lost that earth path whilst they converted to Tnc-s

Wouldn’t help sticking a PME sticker on it if that is the case!

That's what I was intimating, Des. It is the easiest and cheapest way, after all. But, why no label TNC-S or PME?

Hi the second fuse is for next door neighbours adjoining property

Hi thanks, I did telephone the DNO & they confirmed & said they would resend the installer out on Fri to label the PME stickers. I am going to call them on Monday as they never came.
