I now have the interesting job of running in a new ring for the kitchen and radial for rest, plus a light circuit, I really don't know where to start. It's going to have to be taken around the outside I think, I can clip to wall, put 3mm steel capping over it then it's having 50mm of render so it will be hidden, where the heck I am meant to get 3mm from though I don't know.

Tidy job that.

that kind of pish would bring a tear to a glass eye.
thats a rip out and start again job if ever I see one

I don't think that's his fault, looks like it was put on after anyway, something to do with the lime render maybe, I don't know.

well if its SBR then he shouldn`t be drilling it......

if its platten then cutting out for boxes in it breaches it......

so its a no-win....

No idea, I tend to stick to electrics as I think I'm quite good at that. You know, his brother is a plumber, can you believe it, you would have thought he was the plumber, hang on a plumber would probably have done a better job of it.

The customer is literally running out of money quicker than you can say it due to everything and I know this would be a huge set back. I do feel for them but they need it looked at. They are paying off rent on another house at nearly a grand a month whstvtgis is being done. I'll tell them that I think it needs further attention at a cost.

the OCPD is wrong if it's radials but then he claims they are rings... God knows eh, it would be a nightmare to get to the bottom of going in blind.
this is a small claims court job, unless his insurance company will cough up for it voluntarily.

Could well be worth getting building control out to give an independent assessment of it, otherwise it will just end up being your word against his in court.

I'd also make sure elecsa know that rectifying this work will need to be charged to his insurance, it looks like half the walls are going to need ripping out to get the cables into safe zones, as well as bringing the new supply through to the extension.

so where does kev kitchen come into this?

So we have established that it is a pile of dog mess, now what?

We all need you to kick up a stink over this, tell everyone about it and make a big deal out of it. Wrote to trading standards, the scams, mr Clive Betts MP, your local MP, whatever organisation it was she got the number from, the local rag, the red tops.

You never know, this might just be the straw that breaks the horses back and splits this whole part P mess wide open.

Just looking at the certificate, there's so many bits missing and incorrect information, he clearly has no idea. A PFC that high is obviously too high for the breakers, so it didn't register with him there... PME or TNS? Which is it, he needs to know this else how can he possibly know if it complies?

It makes me cry.

Ive seen some pigs ears, but never seen something so bodied that warrants a complaint, I need to sit and think what to write to be honest.
