I do feel sorry for the customer, however she found him, you would hope that there would be some decency in people.

That is a mess, even I would say that I am normally fairly forgiving.

You might not need to redo the cabling in the walls if you can work out what does what, but it would still be a paste over job, but at leat better than what they have now.

This chap is obviously out of his depth and I would think has also not served any form of apprenticeship. In my view the whole lot needs redoing and if this chap's insurance won't pay up then ELECSA will have to pick up the tab including any repairs to decoration and additional rent that the house owner incurs otherwise you can forget about Part P as this will prove that it is not worth the paper it is written on.

Well that's what I thought, ok I know you have to bend the rules sometimes, but looking at that and what I've seen there was no excuse, I know they were not allowed to drill through any timbers etc, ok it would have been a bit tricky, but if you are lacking experience taking on a rewire for a 17th century listed building is not something you should do.

I said to the lady that I'd of probably declined knowing how awkward it would be, yeah ok if they were not in a hurry then I probably would but I'd like plenty of time.

I don't think that's his fault, looks like it was put on after anyway, something to do with the lime render maybe, I don't know.

There's a bit of a difference between
A bending the rules
and
B tearing up the rule book, setting fire to it then peeing on the smouldering remains never having even looked at it never mind read it.
