Ok... ive recently completed 2330, so im no time served. However see the photo and give me your views, is this as incredibly dangerous and dodgy as I think...
I rent a house, my landlord is an electrician, supposedly JIB.
I went to test the element in my oven and couldnt find the isolator switch, realised the hob and oven are connected by a 13a plug each, both plugs wired badly with exposed cores, and the switch itself rests loosely on the cupboard shelf, which is then fed by a 1.5mm twin and earth??
The house isnt particularly impressive really as far as wiring goes...

An oven and a hob on a single 1.5mm.....
Thats just about the roughest thing ive ever heard of.
That cable will be massivley overloaded

On second thoughts.....
I guess its a gas hob right?
Still rough as assholes and 1.5 overloaded

He can't even wire a plug, what's the rest of his installs like?

Yeah that's pretty rough.
Again I'm assuming the plug on the right is for the ignition of a gas hob, and there isn't necessarily anything wrong with plugging them in in this way, but I really dislike the way the flexes just sort of disappear off through a hole in the cabinet - I would rather have the plugs and sockets behind the appliance so it's clear what they're for.
Also the socket should be fixed to something, preferably the fabric of the building, and I don't think I need to comment on the state of the wiring in those plugs.
