I work as an engineer (elec bias) within a food factory, my qualification is 2360 and was done to 16th edition many years ago, I (nor any of the other technicians) have 2382.

My question is this .... My site electrical responsible person says as its an industrial environment there is no legal requirement for engineers to have 2382 - Is he correct?

The sort of work we are expected to does includes installation of new circuits, 3ph distribution, motor control etc ....

We have been pushing for the company to pay for us to do 2382 but they refuse.

Probably easier to think about it this way - All electrical work needs to be carried out by a "competent person" (by definition) - also keep in mind that any electrical work carried out by that "Competent person" he/she is also leagaly (and moraly) responsible for in the event of an accident or electrical mishap in the future. Make you own mind up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
