The Mk2s were stunningly beautiful motors. Me Mk1 had the scariest acceleration I've ever experienced, The guy I bought it off had had the drivers seat loosened a little so when you put your foot down you got an extra kick.
A truely terrifying car, but I loved it.
DAMN YOU MY CHILDREN!

Aye .. this un's a bit lively an' all ............. when it's working, but just now it isn't. It's got a horrific misfire & occasional backfire once it gets warmed up. I've changed the plugs, plug leads, & coil lead. I've changed the coil pack too & have checked the dissy cap & rotor arm, but they're both almost new by the look of them.

I'm taking it to a specialist bloke in Durham next week for him to have a looksee at it, so it'll be a little run oot for me & Tidyboiler. This blokes "thing" is to drop 3 litre V6's into Mr2s ..... I'd go for this option if I could afford it, but I can't just now.

Kinell man 3ltr V6 in an MR2!!!!
That'll be a bit quick and scary then:)

Oh aye ..... The engine's from a Toyota Camry completely overhauled & fitted with the MR2 5 speed manual box. Apparently ye only need to use 2 gears - 2nd & 4th, but they put a higher step 5th gear in it so's when yer gannin' doon the motorway yer doin' the ton with an engine speed of aboot 2,000 RPM.

The same bloke is working on fitting an Audi (I think) V8 into an MR2 just now. Now THAT'S scary !!!
