Hi Chaps

Have you guys fitted any of the Schneider consumer units from toolstation?
They seem good value.
Is there room for a RCBO setup in them.

Thanks

schneider tend to be the market leaders for quality and are the head company for common brands like Square D, Merlin and Telemecanique amongst other but initially to buy the Schneider or merlin brand you pay above the odds but get good product, alot cheaper out there but not used their domestic range.... rcbo's if i remember cost approx £50 which is twice the price i can get other brands but they both do the same job and comply.

I fitted one whilst still branded Square D and TBH they look the same today.

They had plastic DIN rail and no space. They are about half the depth of Wylex

I fitted one not so long back. The moulded din rail was a lot more solid than some metal din rails on plastic struts I have encountered. Plenty room above the rail for rcbo use. Rcbos and mcbs are nice and cheap, £23 and £2.80 from toolstation. Bad points were severely limited bottom entries, lid was a bit flimsy, and a less than comprehensive label set. I would trust the switchgear all day long if its anything like Merlin though.

Not the best IMO, Bit flimsy and lack of space, On the positive side Scneider run the most comprehensive electrical company I have ever seen though, and I have seen them with mobile workshops setting up and assembling switchgear on the bigger jobs, however on the flipside they also own GET, which has a less then enviable reputation!
