I've got my Elesca assessment on a week on Monday, I was going to do my cu at home, but when I looked at it the upstairs and downstairs sockets are all on the same circuit. I can get to one of the legs and separate it but the other one is in a room that has only just been re-decorated. Therefore is it ok to keep the circuit all together and put on the form "customer refused to have the circuit separated due to the damage to decorated it will cause" or should I look for something different to do. I've looked at the big red book page 39, 314 Division of installation 314.1 says " every installation shall be divided into circuits". Or is it ok because its not a new installation.

So its ok that the ring final is all one circuit ( upstairs and downstairs ) and there is no need to separate the circuits, will I not get pulled up for it. Sorry but I need to make sure this is right as a another vist from Elecsa is £414

Is it £414 for a re-visit?

I thought it was £414 to join and get assessed. I thought for some reason it was around £250 - £260 for re-visit. :(

Post up exactly what circuits you have.

Be easier that way...

I have the following

1 Downstairs Lights 10 amp mcb
2 Upstairs Lights 10 amp mcb
3 Oven (hob plus socket) 32 amp mcb
4 Oven ( main oven) 32 amp mcb
5 up & down stairs sockets 32 amp mcb ( on a ring )

Thats how it is now.

RCD - Oven/Downstairs lights

RCD - Oven & Hob/sockets/Upstairs lights.

Basically as long as you split the lighting over the 2 RCD;s, any combination of the above will be fine.
