I'm looking for some lights for a kitchen ceiling, as it's exposed beams there is only 50mm air space clearance above the plasterboard which is fitted between the ceiling joists so not enough for a GU10 to fit. I'm looking for some very shallow downlights which will take LED lamps (no heat), what would be good is the type that project down from the ceiling a bit, I know you can get surface fit cupboard lights but I doubt they'd be much cop on the ceiling. Can anybody recommend something suitable?

(If all else fails I'll get some standard open downlights and try to drop them down a bit by fitting into shallow square or round surface boxes)

cheers AJ

Thanks, really good website. The GX53-11W fitting looks perfect, I'll have to try a couple and see how they perform, hopefully they do a warm white. The 9W LED downlight looks good, adjustable and has a 45º beam as well so could be good for other areas with more ceiling depth.

i ordered 8 IP65 downlights with warm white 3watt led lamps on friday afternoon and received them next day 10.00am. was pleasantly surprised to find the fittings were excellent quality, really well made.
