Hi all was just wondering what you think is the best pair of side cutters to use as im in need of a new pair lol

Ive had a couple of pairs of the CK Combicutters 3. You can now get NWS cutters from Screwfix with all the same features (wire strippers, screw cutters, wire anvil) and ive heard these stay sharper for longer. I may make these my next pair.

I have Knipex ones which are very good, also got NWS 6 in 1 Supercutter which are crap, cutters are not very sharp and the cable strippers are a waste of time, only use it for lending to somebody else hoping they lose it and have to buy me a replacement knipex one.

I`ve never used the nws supercutters but their normal 160mm side cutters are good, and do stay sharper than the last batch of knipex i used about 4-5 years ago

I've got the NWS hi-leverage side cutters which are great and fires bits of cable all over the room when you cut it, unfortunately the 6 in 1 are a bit blunt and have to give it a bit of a wiggle to break the cable off, and the cutters are brand new

I use Knipex.

I dont like the combi strippers, as the cutting part is in the 'wrong' place to me.
As the cutting area is at the end of the tool, you have to 'line up' the cable to cut it.

IF you want combi cutters, this style is better...because cable is MUCH easier to cut.

I have the Klein Curve here, but i still stick with my Knipex for cutting AND stripping

I use the Klein automatic wire stripper type, I swear by them but not at that price, I got mine from toolstation Toolstation > Hand Tools > Electricians Tools > Automatic Wire Stripper this type cuts and removes the insulation neatly rather than just pull the insulation off the cable.
